What is Selank?
Selank consists of the tuftsin sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg, a fragment of an antibody, plus Pro-Gly-Pro, which protects it from rapid degradation (751.9 g/mol). Like Semax, it was developed in Russia.
Research status
Studies examine interactions with the GABAergic system, changes in the expression of neurotransmission genes and effects on inflammatory messengers. Much of the literature is in Russian and based on animal models, with few independent replications.
Status
Registered in Russia, not approved in the EU. Research use only. A more stable variant is N-acetyl Selank amidate.
