What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 is a pentadecapeptide with the sequence GEPPPGKPADDAGLV and a molar mass of 1,419.5 g/mol (CAS 137525-51-0). It is a partial sequence of a larger protein in gastric juice. Research since the early 1990s goes back mainly to a group led by Predrag Sikirić at the University of Zagreb.
Research status
There are several hundred publications, overwhelmingly in rats and mice, covering tendon and ligament healing, damage to the gastric and intestinal lining and the formation of new blood vessels. Proposed mechanisms involve the growth factor receptor VEGFR2 and the nitric oxide system. Two caveats matter: much of the work comes from one group, and controlled human studies are almost entirely missing.
Safety and status
Robust human safety data do not exist. BPC-157 is not approved as a medicine in the EU or the US and has been on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list since 2022. We sell it exclusively as a research reagent, without usage or dosing advice. See BPC-157 vs. TB-500.
