What is Larazotide Capsules?
Larazotide (GGVLVQPG) is derived from a protein of the cholera pathogen (zonula occludens toxin). It acts locally in the gut and is barely absorbed. In capsule form the substance comes in a constant amount per capsule, which makes standardised test series without reconstitution easier.

State of research
Larazotide derives from the zonula occludens toxin of the cholera bacterium. It is meant to stabilise the junctions between intestinal cells (tight junctions), which loosen in coeliac disease under the influence of gluten and the signalling protein zonulin. As a capsule it is released in the small intestine and barely absorbed into the blood, which suits an oral form unusually well for a peptide.
In phase II trials, participants with coeliac disease on a gluten-free diet reported fewer symptoms. A phase III trial was stopped in 2022 after an interim analysis did not show sufficient benefit. In research, larazotide remains a tool for gut barrier and zonulin signalling studies.
Status and quality
Larazotide is not approved as a medicine. Peptidkauf sells Larazotide Capsules solely as a research reagent for laboratory and in-vitro use and gives no dosing or application advice.
An independent laboratory tests every batch for identity and content before it goes on sale; the reports and their verification keys are in the lab report archive. Store the capsules dry, protected from light and at room temperature; no reconstitution is needed.
