What is IGF-1 LR3?
IGF-1 LR3 consists of the 70 amino acids of IGF-1 with arginine instead of glutamic acid at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension (83 amino acids in total). It therefore barely binds to IGFBPs and stays biologically available for longer.

State of research
IGF-1 LR3 was developed in Australia in the 1990s for cell culture. Native IGF-1 is quickly captured by binding proteins the cells secrete themselves. The changes at position 3 and at the N-terminus largely prevent this, so low concentrations already stimulate growth and proliferation.
Today it is a standard supplement in serum-free media, for example for CHO cells in bioproduction. In basic research it is used to study the IGF-1 receptor and its PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways. There are no human data.
Status and quality
IGF-1 LR3 is not approved as a medicine and is on the WADA Prohibited List. Peptidkauf sells IGF-1 LR3 solely as a research reagent for laboratory and in-vitro use and gives no dosing or application advice.
An independent laboratory tests every batch for purity (HPLC), identity and measured content before it goes on sale; the reports and their verification keys are in the lab report archive. The material ships as lyophilised powder in a glass vial; storage and laboratory handling are covered under storage & handling.
