What is IGF-1 DES?
IGF-1 DES (1-3) is a naturally occurring form of IGF-1 truncated by the tripeptide Gly-Pro-Glu (67 amino acids). Without these residues it barely binds IGFBPs and is markedly more potent in vitro.

State of research
IGF-1 DES was first isolated from bovine colostrum and human brain tissue, so it occurs naturally. Depending on cell type it is about ten times more potent than full IGF-1 in culture, because binding proteins barely capture it.
It is used to study the role of IGF-binding proteins, IGF-1 receptor activation and local growth signals in tissue. Unlike IGF-1 LR3, IGF-1 DES is short-lived in blood, which makes it useful for experiments with short, defined signals.
Status and quality
IGF-1 DES is not approved as a medicine and is on the WADA Prohibited List. Peptidkauf sells IGF-1 DES solely as a research reagent for laboratory and in-vitro use and gives no dosing or application advice.
An independent laboratory tests every batch for purity (HPLC), identity and measured content before it goes on sale; the reports and their verification keys are in the lab report archive. The material ships as lyophilised powder in a glass vial; storage and laboratory handling are covered under storage & handling.
