What is cortagen?
Cortagen is one of the synthetic short peptides described at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology (430.4 g/mol). The idea behind these bioregulators is that short peptides influence gene activity in a tissue-specific way.
Research status
Work describes effects on gene expression and regeneration in models of peripheral nerve injury and in cell culture. A direct interaction with DNA is discussed but rarely confirmed independently; the literature comes mostly from one group.
Status
Not approved. Research use only. Other bioregulators: pinealon, cardiogen, vesugen.
