What is ACTH (1-39)?
ACTH (1-39) is derived from proopiomelanocortin (POMC) in the pituitary. The first 24 amino acids carry the full biological activity at the melanocortin-2 receptor; residues 4–10 are the basis of Semax.

State of research
ACTH is the central signal of the stress axis: the hypothalamus releases CRH, the pituitary ACTH and the adrenal gland cortisol. ACTH acts at the melanocortin-2 receptor but also binds other melanocortin receptors, which explains effects on pigmentation and inflammation.
In research, ACTH (1-39) is a tool for the HPA axis, cortisol synthesis in adrenal cells and the receptors MC1R to MC5R. Shorter sections matter too: ACTH(1-24) is the active substance in the adrenal stimulation test, and ACTH(4-7) is the basis of semax.
Status and quality
Corticotropin products are approved in some countries; ACTH is on the WADA Prohibited List. The material offered here is not a medicinal product. Peptidkauf sells ACTH (1-39) solely as a research reagent for laboratory and in-vitro use and gives no dosing or application advice.
An independent laboratory tests every batch for purity (HPLC), identity and measured content before it goes on sale; the reports and their verification keys are in the lab report archive. The material ships as lyophilised powder in a glass vial; storage and laboratory handling are covered under storage & handling.
