Structure
AOD-9604 corresponds to amino acids 177–191 of hGH with an added N-terminal tyrosine and contains a disulfide bridge. The fragment does not bind the GH receptor to any relevant extent and did not affect IGF-1 in studies.
Research focus
Preclinical work examines effects on lipolysis and lipogenesis in fat cells. Clinical weight-loss trials ended without a marketing application; there is also work on cartilage models.
Status
No marketing authorisation in the EU. WADA lists GH fragments in category S2.
