Structure
Retatrutide is a synthetic 39-amino-acid peptide with a C20 fatty-acid side chain that extends the half-life through albumin binding. It simultaneously activates the receptors for glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucagon.
State of research
Retatrutide is in phase III clinical trials. Published phase II data examine effects on body weight, glucose metabolism and liver fat. Preclinically, the role of each receptor component in energy expenditure is analysed.
Status
There is no marketing authorisation. At Peptidkauf the compound is listed as Triple G; the lab reports run a blind test against semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide. The product page is now listed under the name Retatrutide.
