| Sequence | Pal-KTTKS |
| Synonyms | Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Pal-KTTKS |
Structure
Matrixyl consists of the pentapeptide Lys-Thr-Thr-Lys-Ser, a segment of type I procollagen, with palmitic acid on the N-terminus for better skin penetration.
State of research
Research covers the synthesis of collagen I and III and fibronectin in fibroblasts and effects in skin models.
Status
Matrixyl is a common cosmetic ingredient; it is not approved as a medicinal product.
