Structure
The fragment comprises 16 amino acids of the hGH C-terminus including the disulfide bridge between its two cysteines. AOD-9604 is a related variant with an additional N-terminal tyrosine.
State of research
Animal studies describe increased lipolysis and reduced lipogenesis without effects on blood glucose or growth; clinical data come mainly from studies with AOD-9604.
Status
The fragment is not approved as a medicinal product and is on the WADA Prohibited List.
