Peptide lexicon
FOXO4-DRI
D-retro-inverso peptide that disrupts the binding of FOXO4 to p53 and serves as a senolytic tool in senescence research.

Structure
FOXO4-DRI consists of D-amino acids in the reversed order of a FOXO4 segment, linked to a cell-penetrating sequence (HIV-TAT). The D-retro-inverso design makes it resistant to proteases.
State of research
A widely cited study (Baar et al., Cell 2017) described selective apoptosis of senescent cells in mice. Further work studies Leydig cells, fibrosis and ageing models.
Status
FOXO4-DRI is not approved as a medicinal product; there are no human data.
