Struktur
Selank besteht aus der Tuftsin-Sequenz Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg, verlängert um Pro-Gly-Pro. Die C-terminale Erweiterung erhöht die Stabilität gegenüber Peptidasen.
Forschungsschwerpunkte
Untersucht werden Wechselwirkungen mit dem GABAergen System, die Expression von Genen der Neurotransmission sowie immunmodulatorische Effekte auf Zytokine. Viele Studien sind russischsprachig und in Tiermodellen durchgeführt.
Einordnung
In Russland ist Selank als Arzneimittel registriert; in der EU besteht keine Zulassung. N-Acetyl-Selank-Amidat ist Bestandteil des Neuro-Blends.
