Structure
Epithalon is the tetrapeptide AEDG. It was developed as the synthetic counterpart of the pineal extract epithalamin.
Research focus
Publications describe telomerase activation and telomere elongation in cell culture, effects on the melatonin rhythm and lifespan endpoints in animal models. Binding to DNA promoter regions is discussed.
