Structure
ACE-031 joins the extracellular domain of human ActRIIB to the Fc portion of IgG1. As a ligand trap it binds myostatin, activins and other ligands of the receptor.
State of research
Animal models and an early clinical trial in muscular dystrophy examined gains in muscle mass; the trial was stopped because of vascular side effects.
Status
ACE-031 is not approved as a medicinal product and is on the WADA Prohibited List.
